Taken overall, the changes are not drastic, but the update is enough to make the F-Pace a more compelling option. This is important, as the F-Pace competes in the ultra-hot luxury midsize crossover segment, which is packed with plenty of rock-solid options.
If it is not broken
Keep a new 2021 F-Pace with the model currently on sale as well and we’ll wager that most people couldn’t tell them apart – and that’s fine. The F-Pace is already a great looking crossover, with a smooth, round-shaped and beautiful detail. During a recent design presentation, the Jaguar team aimed to enhance the look rather than change whatever changes were made to the new car.
The 2021 F-Pace has fewer facial lines, ie on the hood where it now closes in the front fascia. The new LED headlights are particularly slimmer, now featuring the smaller JS as a day-running signature. There is also a new grille with an optional dark appearance as part of the Black Exterior Pack.
Jaguar further shook the details by adding the iconic leper emblem to the side vents of the crossover and re-shaped the central exhaust similar to the Range Rover Velar. The shuffling modifications are new taillights, which are slimmer and include a new light signature. We appreciate the refreshed look of the F-Pace, but the new interior of the car is where most of the work went.
Jaguar took a bit longer with the new interior of the F-Pace, outfitted most of the center stack and replaced it with up-to-date technology. Front and center is a new 14.1-inch curved display screen, which replaces the old 10.0-inch unit. The new piece of hardware looks very elegant, especially from the side, and serves as the main interaction point with the car. Below is a set of HVAC controls, including twist knobs that control temperature and seating heat / ventilation functions.
The setup is similar to the F-Pace’s Range Rover’s cousin, only the Jag looks a bit cleaner in its layout. The new large display comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and runs the company’s latest Pivi Pro software. With the new system, Jaguar promises faster response times, as well as more intuitive menus thanks to its screen settings.
In addition to the new technology on offer, the F-Pace advances its game with more soft-touch materials and other details that make the cabin a bit more comfortable. There is a new center-console shifter that sits next to the drive mode control, replacing the twistable unit that rises from the console in the current model. Meanwhile, the F-Pace borrows its new steering from the i-Pace, which includes touch-capacitive buttons and a simple three-spoke design. To sweeten things up a bit, ten-color ambient lighting now comes standard, as do keyless entry and a 14-speaker merid sound system.

New options under the hood
For 2021, Jaguar offers the F-Pace in four trim levels: the F-Pace 250, 250 S, S 340, and R-Dynamic S 400. The 250 models are powered by a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, giving 246 horsepower (183 kW) in both trims. Next, the S340 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder with a mild-hybrid assist making 335 hp (250 kW). Finally, the R-Dynamic S takes the same engine and boosts things up slightly to 395 hp (295 kW). The entry-level model reaches sixty mph in 6.9 seconds, while the fastest R-Dynamic model will do it in 5.1 seconds. Each engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
This lineup of F-Pace models still features larger crossovers to perform better on the road than some of its rivals. It includes a BV of standard all-wheel-drive and drive modes throughout the range that adjusts steering, throttle response and optional adaptive dampers.
