1 new COVID-19 related deaths in Brazos County, higher hospitalization status


Bryan, Texas (KBTX) -Brazos County Health District reported 106 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. Currently, there are 1,858 active cases.

There have been 1 new death in the last 24 hours. There have been a total of 152 deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

12,079 patients have been recovered, meaning they have been fever-free for 72 hours without fever-reducing medications, and 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

25 percent of the newly confirmed cases are in the 18–24-year-old age group.

Since June 18, 2020, there have been 2,771 potential cases in Brazos County. A possible COVID-19 case has been determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district investigates the case on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 375 active potential cases and 2,397 possible recovered cases.

The total number of positive cases in the county since the trial began is 14,089. 143,456 trials have been conducted.

Brazos County has 83 percent of the total hospital bed space, and 131 percent of total ICU bed occupancy.

Currently, 65 Brazos County residents are hospitalized for COVID-19.

State Trauma Services Area N

Most of the Brezos Valley State Trauma Service falls under Area N (Brezos, Berlson, Grimes, Lyons, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties). Trauma service sector N currently reports 609 The hospital has 85 beds available. According to the latest state figures, the region has 0 ICU beds and 58 available ventilators. The state’s last update currently lists 155 lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients at the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 dashboard reported 374 active cases on January 13.

Currently, the university has reported 4,890 positive cases, with 7.2 percent of the tests coming positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on January 13, 2021.

Statewide, Texas has an estimated 378,877 Active Cases and 1,666,745 Recovery. A total of 2.097,560 cases were reported and 17,906,336 total trials (both viral and antibody) were performed.

To date, 31,831 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 1,038,890 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the CO38-19 vaccine and 161,865 Texans have been fully vaccinated. Across Texas, 1,717,825 dosages shipped.

Of the 254 counties in the state of Texas, 254 are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases with 278,312 reported cases.
